COURSE OVERVIEW

The Territory Golf Facilities include an 18-hole championship course, an 11-acre practice facility that contains three regulation length par-three holes, each with multiple tee boxes and maintained to the same standard as the championship course; a 15,000 square foot putting green, a driving range with multi-directional tee boxes, a short game area that includes a variety of turf conditions, a two-tiered green and sand bunker; and a wedge area with target flags at 40, 60 and 80 yards.

Fairway, tee and rough locations are Tifsport Bermuda Grass, providing for closer mowing heights and superior turf density.  The greens, which range in size from 6,000 to 10,000 square feet, are an A-1 and A-4 bent grass blend, establishing consistently fast and true putting surfaces.

COURSE HISTORY

Randy Heckenkemper began his career in golf course architecture in the 1980s and has since designed and remodeled more than 40 golf courses across the United States. Born in 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in landscape design, Mr. Heckenkemper, began his career working under Poe and Associates Planning, Inc. as the senior land planner of Jack Nicklaus and Associates, a joint venture between Poe and Nicklaus.

In 1983, recognizing an opportunity for expansion, Mr. Heckenkemper joined the partnership of Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, coordinating the design and construction of several nationally recognized golf courses. After having gained experience in zoning, master and site planning, and golf course design and construction, he ventured out on his own in 1985 and started Heckenkemper Golf Course Design.
